We have successfully protected our brand from spurious use by any other business – which has occurred in the past and for which we have had no recourse.
This is a real achievement as it is rare for a generic word such as Pongees to be trademarked, but we were able to prove that the textile industry, in its broadest sense, associates Pongees with the activity and products of Pongees Ltd.
While this initial trademark covers the UK, we are sending this message globally, as we will be using the new trade marked version of the logo on all print and digital assets. Next year we will look to expand the protection to cover Europe and the US.
